It is confident and responsive on twisty sections of road, especially the RS model, which has different steering and suspension tuning. Even so, the Blazer isn’t as engaging to drive as its styling might suggest.

Compared to the RS model, which rides on massive 21-inch wheels and thuds over uneven terrain, the normal 18-inch wheel and tire combination offers a quieter and more comfortable ride. Fortunately, both models stay silent at highway speeds and on level terrain.

The Blazer can achieve up to 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the interstate when equipped with the standard turbo four. We haven’t tested the four-cylinder version on our 75 mph highway fuel-economy route, which is a part of our rigorous testing methodology, but the all-wheel-drive, V-6 Blazer achieved 24 mpg in our real-world test.
