New 2026 Chevrolet Camaro Lt1 Engine, Specs, Images
New 2026 Chevrolet Camaro Lt1 Engine, Specs, Images – Today’s muscle car is more than just a grumpy face with a bellowing V-8 exhaust note. The Camaro Lt1’s best party trick used to only happen with the steering wheel straight, but modern chassis technology makes Chevy’s only four-seater sports coupe an exciting dance partner. Available as a hard-shell coupe or soft-top convertible, the Camaro Lt1 packs some serious personality. Power has three tiers, starting with a 275-hp turbocharged inline-four, stepping up to a 335-hp V-6, and escalating to a 455-hp V-8 from the C7 Corvette.
The current sixth-generation Camaro Lt1 is getting up there in age, as it has out-survived the Cadillac ATS platform it’s based on by at least five years. While its oldest nemesis, the Ford Mustang, enters another generation thoroughly remade for 2026 the Camaro Lt1 remains largely the same—though we are not complaining. While its fate isn’t exactly cemented, we still have hope that 2026 won’t be the Camaro Lt1’s final year, even while other muscle machines such as the Dodge Challenger and Charger fall limp after 2026.

New 2026 Chevrolet Camaro Lt1 Redesign and Update Plan
Exterior and Interior
With superior materials and a more contemporary appearance than the previous generation, the Camaro Lt1’s interior is an improvement. Its simple design and cozy front seats are its strong characteristics, but its back seat’s cramped size and poor sight make it impractical for a people carrier. Although it is not available in the Ford Mustang or Dodge Challenger, a head-up display is a useful addition.
Customizable ambient inside lighting is another option for the Camaro Lt1, which gives it a stylish appeal. Although the Chevy outperforms its competitors in terms of track performance and driving enjoyment, adults are essentially unable to use the back seat. Regarding interior storage and load capacity, the Camaro Lt1 is superior. In comparison to its other carry-on bags, it had the least number of space-stingy rivals and has a laughably small trunk opening.
New 2026 Chevrolet Camaro Lt1 L Specs
A pleasant touchscreen that works with Chevy’s Infotainment 3 software is a feature of every Camaro Lt1. Although the larger 8.0-inch touchscreen makes greater use of the available space, the plastic bezel is awkwardly angled downward and has a chintzy appearance. Otherwise, I like how well-organized the menus and controls are combined. Everything about Chevy’s arrangement is standard: beautiful menus; responsive feedback; and easy-to-use controls. Additionally, there is a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Engine and Performance
The standard four-cylinder with 275 horsepower isn’t slow; in fact, the manual version we tried was quite fast. However, its inconsistent throttle responses and ugly, unsportsmanlike noises make it a budget-buyer’s pick. However, switching to the 335-hp V-6 drastically alters the nature of the vehicle. The fearless six has a uniquely intense soundtrack. Chevy’s venerable small-block V-8, producing 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque, powers the Camaro LT1 and SS. It bursts into a piercing bark at ignition and produces thundering noises during wide-open throttle blasts. The enthusiast’s spirit is maintained by the standard six-speed manual transmission.
(The basic transmission is a six-speed manual for vehicles without the 1LE package.) For the four-cylinder engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission is an option; for the V-6 and V-8, a smooth 10-speed automatic transmission is available. Unmatched among pony cars, the Camaro Lt1’s incredible chassis offers a car-and-driver connection (see what we did there?). Its sturdy construction allows for accurate handling and a high-quality feel. Its smooth ride is comfortable on uneven terrain yet firm enough to be maneuverable on winding routes. When combined with the 1LE system, the coupes outperform vehicles in their class, competing with expensive sports cars with nicer names.
On the racetrack, the 1LE-equipped cars are rigid, but on public roads, they are easygoing. Their electrically assisted power-steering systems respond with great accuracy and modest effort. Excellent brakes round off the performance trifecta on the hot Chevy; the brake pedal always responds with a progressive and comforting feel. Even more potent, race-ready Brembo brakes are included with the 1LE variants.
New 2026 Chevrolet Camaro Lt1 Fuel Economy
The latter engines fared well on our highway fuel-economy route, which is 75 mph, as part of our rigorous testing program. Every one of the three engines that are available for the Camaro Lt1 when mated with a manual transmission that we tested came in within one mpg (plus or minus) of the government highway figures. New 2026 Chevrolet Camaro Lt1 Safety Features
The Chevy pony car is equipped with multiple safety features, while having fewer driver-assistance technologies than its competitors. Important safety characteristics consist of:
- Rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot recognition are optional features.
- A forward-collision monitoring system is offered.
- There is access to the rear parking sensors. New 2026 Chevrolet Camaro Lt1 Engine
New 2026 Chevrolet Camaro Lt1 Price and Release Date
Depending on the specification and options, the 2026 Chevrolet Camaro Lt1 might cost anywhere from $27,795 to $46,295 in price. We humbly believe that the SS model with the optional 1LE Track Performance package is the greatest way to enjoy a new Camaro Lt1. It features unique exterior elements like satin-black exterior accents and black-painted 20-inch wheels, as well as distinctive interior elements like microsuede trim and more supportive Recaro front seats (available only on SS models).
Still, performance-related upgrades are the most significant. Each 1LE is equipped with a limited-slip differential, stronger brakes, a dual-mode exhaust system, improved powertrain cooling components, and a specially tuned suspension that finds the ideal mix between being too soft and too firm for track day driving.
