New 2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Convertible Images, Price, Engine – After decades of rumors of a mid-engine Corvette, its arrival for the 2020 model year was a seismic event. The E-Ray Convertible model that joined the lineup for 2026 adds even more novel elements to the Corvette recipe: a hybrid powertrain, all-wheel drive, and standard all-season tires. But don’t fret, because the E-Ray Convertible hybrid has the same sensational looks as the rest of the C8 lineup and it resides high on the sports car’s performance hierarchy.
In other words, it’s made to go faster, not farther, on each gallon of gas. That’s thanks to its powertrain that combines a powerful V-8 engine with a front electric motor and a small battery for a total of 655 horsepower—nearly as much as the screaming Corvette Z06 and a major upgrade over the base Corvette Stingray. We love its combination of blistering acceleration, engaging handling, and surprising daily-driver practicality, which is why we named it to our 10Best and Editors’ Choicelists for 2026. It’s a multi-dimensional supercar with more trunk space than you’d expect, and its electric-only Stealth driving mode means it can quiet down when you need it to for short distances.

New 2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Convertible Redesign and Update Plan
Exterior and Interior
While the Corvette E-Ray Convertible has a different powertrain from other Corvettes, the interior is nearly identical to the Stingray and Z06 models. It’s strictly a two-seater and can be optioned with materials such as leather, imitation suede, and metal or carbon-fiber trim. The roof is removable on the coupe, just like in other Corvettes, and it is stored inside the trunk just aft of the engine compartment. The rear trunk can also accommodate two golf bags, while the smaller front trunk offers space for some luggage or cargo when the roof is stowed.
The driver sits behind a squared-off steering wheel. There’s a 12.0-inch reconfigurable gauge display and a large infotainment touchscreen angled toward the driver for ease of use. Special pages on the screen provide readouts for electric-motor and gas-engine power and torque. The interior design takes the driver-focused concept to the max with what we’ve dubbed the Great Wall of HVAC Controls: a tall separator bisecting the cockpit atop which sits a bank of switches for the car’s climate-control system. New 2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Convertible Specs
The Corvette E-Ray Convertible uses Chevrolet’s Infotainment 3 Plus system, which features an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth audio streaming, a 4G LTE mobile hotspot, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability. The system is easy to use and quick to respond to commands.
Engine and Performance
The Corvette’s first-ever hybrid powertrain consists of a 6.2-liter V-8 borrowed from the Corvette Stingray that makes 495 horsepower and drives the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. A 160-hp electric motor sits on the front axle and drives the front wheels, creating an all-wheel-drive setup with a combined 655 horsepower. A small 1.1-kWh battery pack allows the Corvette E-Ray Convertible to travel at up to 45 mph on electric power for short distances in what Chevy calls Stealth mode.
Chevrolet is touting the winter-weather advantages of all-wheel drive and underscoring that idea by making high-performance all-season tires standard on the E-Ray Convertible. Summer rubber is an option, and our test vehicle was so equipped. Cornering grip is nothing short of heroic; although the extra mass from the addition of the electric motor and battery shows up on the scales, it goes virtually unnoticed from behind the wheel on twisty roads. Much like the base Stingray, the E-Ray Convertible is as easy to live with whether you’re running errands or threading your local esses. We proved that by letting it loose at Lightning Lap 2026. This is a sports car with two personalities in one. New 2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Convertible Images
New 2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Convertible Fuel Economy
The EPA estimates that the E-Ray Convertible is slightly less efficient than the standard Stingray. It’s rated for 19 mpg city, which matches the nonhybrid car’s figure, but 24 mpg highway which is 1 mpg less than the Stingray. On our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test route, the Corvette E-Ray Convertible delivered 23 mpg. New 2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Convertible Images

New 2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Convertible Price and Release Date
The price of the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Convertible starts at $108,595 and goes up to $126,545 depending on the trim and options. Like the regular Corvette, the Corvette E-Ray Convertible is available as either a coupe or a convertible with a power-folding hardtop. Since the coupe’s targa roof lifts off for open-top motoring anyway, we’d stick with it. The E-Ray Convertible is offered in 1LZ, 2LZ, and 3LZ trim levels with similar equipment to the 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT versions of the standard Corvette Stingray, and we’d recommend upgrading to the 2LZ version, which adds features such as a head-up display, a wireless smartphone charging pad, a 14-speaker Bose stereo system, blind-spot monitoring, and more.
