Rear-wheel drive is standard and four-wheel drive is available throughout the lineup. As expected, fuel economy for the New 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 depends greatly on the powertrain and configuration. The most efficient engine in the lineup is the turbo-diesel that’s rated at up to 26 mpg combined (23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway).

The 5.3-liter V8 engine is next in line, rated at up to 18 mpg combined, which breaks down to 16 mpg city and 22 mpg hwy. The 6.2-liter V8 is almost as efficient as the 5.3-liter V8, being rated at up to 17 mpg combined (15 mpg city and 20 mpg hwy). It costs $1,035 on models with 4WD and $1,085 with RWD.

The Custom trim gains Hitch Guidance as standard. The available Safety Package on the LT trim costs $1,115 and front and rear parking sensors, reverse automatic emergency braking, rear pedestrian alert, trailer side blind zone alert, and an HD surround-view camera. The same package costs $1,065 on the RST and LT Trail Boss trims. The LTZ trim is the first to come with blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a surround-view parking camera, parking sensors, and a safety alert seat as standard. A head-up display, rear camera mirror, and a bed view camera are available on the LTZ trim through the $1,520 Technology Package. The entry-level Work Truck trim is meant for fleet use and for shoppers that want a simple truck that’s meant for work tasks. It comes with 17-inch wheels, manually adjustable front seats, a tilt steering column, power door locks and windows, remote keyless entry, rubberized vinyl flooring, vinyl upholstery, and single-zone climate control. The $1,190 Work Truck Value Package includes deep-tinted glass, a rear window defogger, hitch guidance, heated exterior mirrors, and cruise control. The Work Truck Convenience Package includes a lot of the same features, but doesn’t include hitch guidance for $795.

The Work Truck Package includes a heavy-duty air filter and skid plates for $175.
